Something Old, Something New, Something Beautiful
As one last extremely important factor, consider in more detail the points touched on in Virtual Proximity about a private stream-routing network being a retail customer of the old fashioned telephone companies. The advantages of the private stream-routing network are clear: decreased expense and increased capability. But an individual might have a difficult time simply walking away from the form of instant contact everyone is used to and a business would likely find it impossible. That connection to the old fashioned phone companies is key to making the transition.
On QoStar’s UltraPBX, phone numbers can be “ported-in” through an Interconnected VoIP Provider, causing the incoming calls to be digitized and moved seamlessly through the private stream-routing network. Calls to destinations outside the private network can be seamlessly delivered to an Interconnected VoIP Provider for final delivery at one of over thirty worldwide carriers to complete the call. But on the inside of the network, all the power of the UltraPBX and off-site hosted phone systems are available to do things like route inbound calls based on time of day, voice menus, and “hunt” strategies as well as routing outbound calls to the phone company that will give the best price and performance.
The expense of this connection to the old fashioned telephone carriers is relatively small because of QoStar’s bulk buying power. As a final bonus, our users get to take advantage of this cooperative pool without signing any direct contracts to the notoriously encumbering old fashioned telephone companies. QoStar maintains all the contracts and actively manages the relationships with all the carriers as a cooperative retail customer on behalf of all UltraPBX users. The costs associated with calling through the cooperative system are aggregated and spread proportionally among the users, most often in the form of flat rate, usage capped inclusion in the basic pricing. Most services which include cooperative calling can call the US, Canada, and all or part of 51 other countries as a flat-rate in the $20 to $25 per month price range.
